A Little Bit About Us

Our Values

In 2012 we had a crazy idea – gourmet donuts! What if we made donuts from scratch, with fresh fruits, herbs and spices, even liqueurs? What if we used brioche, the buttery queen of breads, as our raised-yeast base? And what if we partner with our neighbors, using local products that support our communities? The result has been more fantastic than we could ever have dreamed – not only do we get to create delicious and unforgettable mouth moments, but we get to see smiles and people coming together, every single day! Our donuts are a direct reflection of our Values, and who we are as a company.

Passion for Quality

Not only are we obsessed with making the best donuts we can, but having the best people! Just like complex and diverse ingredients make amazing donuts, so do people make a company! We have the highest standards in our culinary and team member creations.

Going the Extra Mile

The donuts are in the details! Maybe not everyone will care that our coffee is designed to pair perfectly with our donuts, or that each fritter is perfectly scored before frying, but we do! We take our time and we help each other out to make sure the job always gets done correctly. We craft our donuts from locally sourced ingredients and collaborators, because we like our neighbors. That’s why we partner with them to create unique, local flavors in each community. Our shops are clean and beautiful, so we can leave our worries at the door and come together over life’s simple pleasures.

Donuts, not drama

Sure, making brioche dough, glazes, and fillings from scratch at 3am every day is hard work, and life can be surprisingly overwhelming at times. But at the end of the day, it’s just donuts! We get to create delicious donuts that make people happy and bring people together, and that is one of the coolest jobs in the world.

Smart donuts, smarter cookies

Think fast! There are many kinds of smarts in this world, and here at Blue Star we have room for them all! Thinking on our feet and making creative solutions help us to get thousands of beautiful donuts out the door and smiles on faces, every single day.

Je ne sais quoi

“A pleasant quality that is difficult to describe”. That moment when time slows down after the perfect bite. The way your BFF looks at you when you bring their favorite donut. Watching the sun rise with frosting on your face. Spontaneously breaking out into a donut dance party…Capturing that special ‘extra something’ is difficult to describe, but we sure know it when we see it!
